In a big country/Dreams stay with you/Like a lover's voice/Across the mountainside...
So, three weeks ago my house flooded with six feet of water in the basement and three in the rest of the house. Now it's all good, but initially when my mom was all "Oh, we're going to Phoenix for Columbus Day Weekend" I was all "Dude, we live in freaking rubble with no running water."
It was a good trip, in fact. I don't want to be one of those boring people who shows everyone their horrible vacation photos, but I have to say it was pretty awesome. My sister and I borrowed one of the "Club Car" golf cart vehicles and drove it around in our bikinis, singing at the top of our lungs. I found some additions to my vinyl collection at Goodwill, which was nice.
Aaand...there was some awkies, too. Awkwardness: the spice of life. Such as: my foot getting stuck in between the floorboards on the verandah/porch/patio deal of a Mexican restaurant. A lesson to us all: Don't wear heels that frigging skinny if you are planning to get outside a chimichanga and then hustle out of that joint. Two waiters had to pull me out. And then I fell on one of them, sideways, and his hands...were trying to steady my hips? And then got lost? Kind of a lot? Anyway, they got my foot out (this was around 10 pm) and I immediately faceplanted on the floor. And bruised my face. With stripes from the wood planking.
Just 'cause I'm glamorous like that.
